There are a couple of things coming up in the next two weeks that I want to make sure you are aware of and encourage you to be a part of.
First, this Sunday, Joseph and Jennifer Kigunda will be sharing their story in worship. Joseph and Jennifer are the founders and current directors of The Tania Centre in Kenya. Tania is a residential school for special needs kids.
Joseph and Jennifer have an incredible story of how they started Tania and what they have seen God do through the work there. It’s a real honor to have them both with us this Sunday. If you’re in town don’t miss this Sunday!
The following Sunday, August 19, we will be having a called business meeting to ask the church to approve funds for our canopy project. For the last few months a team has been working with an architect and builder to design and construct a canopy at the entrance to our worship center.
This was something we had planned to do several years ago when we did renovations to that side of the building but decided to forgo it in order to keep our costs down. Recently we’ve had a generous donation of $150,000 to help complete this project. The total cost of the project is $163,750. At the business meeting the team will be asking the church to approve and additional $14,000 to complete the project.
The team made a presentation this past Sunday, including renderings of what the canopy will look like. If you missed that presentation they will go over all of those details again on Aug 19. In the meantime you can view the Power Pointfrom the presentation here.
I hope you have a great week and are able to join us this Sunday for an amazing time of worship.
