I don’t usually make New Year’s resolutions but I know a lot of people do. You may be one of them. I’ve certainly seen a larger than normal crowd at the gym so I suspect some of the new faces are the results of new resolutions.
The problem with New Year’s resolutions is they typically don’t last very long. Last week I read a great blog post that contained some really good advice for anyone starting New Year’s resolution. Here’s a link to that post for those of you who have set resolutions.
As we start 2017 there’s a few things coming up that I hope you will be a part of. First, in a couple of weeks we’ll be starting a new sermon series called 20/20 Vision. During the series we’ll be taking a look back at 2016 through our annual ministry impact report. We’ll also be looking forward at the strategic objectives we’ve identified for our church. These objectives will help guide us for the next few years.
We’ll also be starting new small groups at the end of January. Every follower of Christ needs to be connected to a small group. Groups are where we learn from each other, share our life experiences, pray for each other and encourage each other through difficulties. I hope you will plug into a small group this semester.
Finally, on Sunday, January 22 at 5:30pm we will be having Fairfax Circle 101. This is a one and a half hour session where we talk about our church’s strategies, structure, values and beliefs. It’s designed with the newest person in mind and we try to answer the frequently asked questions about our church. We offer 101 a couple of times of year so if you’ve never attend please plan to in a few weeks.
See you Sunday.
