Through multiple mission trips over the years, Fairfax Circle Church has developed close relationships with organizations helping children in Kenya.

Nairobi Gospel Centre

We partner with Nairobi Gospel Centre in Nairobi, Kenya to help train pastors and leaders in children’s ministry and children’s evangelism. Together we’ve trained over 800 pastors and leaders since 2006.

In 2009, we began working with Nairobi Gospel Centre to serve the vulnerable children in the Embakasi area of Nairobi. This new mission opportunity led to the creation of a non-profit organization called Side By Side Minstries. Our church, working with our ministry partners, Side By Side and Nairobi Gospel Centre, provide financial assistance to six at risk children who are currently living at home with a single parent. We also provide a financial stipend for our Kenyan program coordinator.

Full-Time Missionary

As a result of our involvement, Beth, one of our own members, was called to Kenya for full-time ministry.  You can read her blog by clicking here.  She works at the Tania Centre, a school which serves 165 disabled children.  Beth works directly with 45 of the children, teaching English, music, PE and computers.

Operation Christmas Child (in association with Samaritan’s Purse)

Another ministry that reaches overseas is Operation Christmas Child.  Since 1993, more than 100 million boys and girls in over 130 countries have experienced God’s love through the power of simple shoebox gifts from Operation Christmas Child (OCC). Fairfax Circle Church has been packing shoeboxes for OCC since 2001.

Their shoebox is the first gift many children have ever received! The treasures and personal letters inside communicate that someone cares for them.  It gives them an opportunity to experience the love of God.

Be sure to watch a video to see the impact this simple gift has on children and communities!  You will be amazed and inspired.

As shoebox gifts are distributed, local pastors or church leaders present the Gospel in a fun way designed for kids while family and friends listen in.   Afterwards, boys and girls are invited to enroll in The Greatest Journey, a 12-lesson discipleship program. They learn from trained local volunteers what it means to faithfully follow Christ and share their faith with others.  The graduates also receive a New Testament Bible in their own language.
