I want to update you on the Tania Solar Project that we’ve been working on over the last few months. We are partnering with several churches in Canada to raise funds to equip the Tania Centre in Kenya with a solar power system that will provide electricity for the entire campus.
Back in November, we set a goal of raising $50,000 by this month, with half of it designated for the solar project and the other half going to help with Tania’s staffing needs. I’m happy to report that we’ve exceeded our goal in giving with over $50,000 given to date. The Canadian churches have raised their part as well.
Last month we executed the contract with the UK company that will be doing the installation and the initial deposit for the project was sent by the Canadians. We will be sending our funds in the next week and the company will begin ordering equipment and supplies.
We hope to have the project completed and the system up and running sometime in June or early July.
I want to thank you for your generosity in making this happen. Tania is a school for special needs kids and is doing some amazing work in their community. This project will have implications for generations at Tania and will allow them to focus their resources in so many other areas.
Please continue to pray for Joseph and Jennifer as they lead at Tania, for the staff and workers and for the children and families that benefit from the Tania Center.
